Koh Phi Phi has been my home for many years, and my love for this island hasn’t faded since the first moment I stepped off the boat back in 2005.
Yes, a lot has changed—Phi Phi has grown and developed over time—but its raw beauty and unique charm remain untouched. For me, it’s still the paradise I fell in love with all those years ago, and without a doubt, one of the most breathtaking islands in all of Thailand.
Whether you’re an adventure seeker, a beach lounger, a solo backpacker, a social butterfly, or someone just looking to get away—Koh Phi Phi offers something special for everyone.

DAY THREE
Getting to Koh Phi Phi
Reaching Koh Phi Phi is easier than you might think. If you’re starting your journey in Bangkok, you’ll first need to travel south—either by plane, bus, or train.
The two closest airports to Koh Phi Phi are Phuket and Krabi. From Phuket’s Rassada Pier or Krabi’s Klong Jilad Pier, you can catch a ferry or speedboat that will take you directly to the island. Boats run regularly during the high season and offer a scenic introduction to your tropical getaway.

Ferries run several times a day and are a fairly comfortable way to reach the island. The top deck often doubles as a sundeck—perfect for soaking up the views and catching some rays during the ride. The journey takes about two hours by ferry. If you’re short on time, speedboats are a faster option, cutting the travel time in half.

DAY ONE #1
• RELAXING ON LONG BEACH
• VIEWPOINT AT SUNSET TIME
It’s time to relax and enjoy the day on the beach—and there’s no better place to do that than Long Beach.
Long Beach is about a 30-minute walk from the main town area. It’s easy to reach by following the scenic west coast trail. Alternatively, you can hop on one of the longtail boat taxis, which usually cost between 100–150 THB per person, depending on the time of day.
Here, you can lounge on the sandy shore, sunbathe, snorkel, and swim while sipping on a fresh coconut or a cold Chang beer.
Tip: If you’re up for a little adventure, walk across the hill from Long Beach to discover the quieter and more secluded Loh Moodee Beach.

In the afternoon, take a walk up to the Phi Phi Viewpoint — a must-do when visiting the island. If you can, don’t just stop at the second viewpoint; keep going all the way to the third one. It’s less crowded and a fantastic way to work off all those pad thais!
There is an entry fee of 50 THB per person for the first and second viewpoints, and an additional 20 THB for access to the third viewpoint.
Tip: All you need to know about Phi Phi Viewpoints.
DAY TWO #2
• BOAT TRIP
• BEACH PARTY AND FIRESHOW

Get out and explore the stunning islands and beaches, and enjoy some of the best snorkeling Phi Phi Island has to offer.
You can hire a private boat or join a group tour to experience amazing snorkeling and swimming in the crystal-clear lagoons and bays of both Phi Phi Lay and Phi Phi Don. Tours run early in the morning, and there are also fantastic afternoon trips that include sunset views and even night plankton swimming.

Head over to Loh Dalum around 6 PM to unwind and soak in the stunning sunset views. For the best vibe, check out Freedom Bar or Cottage Bar—both offer a fantastic atmosphere to relax and watch the day fade away.
As night falls, around 8 PM, Thai fire dancers take center stage at many beach bars, showing off their incredible skills. The top spots for the fire shows are Slinky Bar and Freedom Bar in Loh Dalum Bay.
Get ready to dance barefoot in the sand, sip on the infamous buckets, and have your body painted with vibrant fluorescent colors as the party comes alive.

DAY THREE #3

Phi Phi Island boasts some of the best dive spots in Thailand, with an underwater world as stunning as the scenery above the water. Boats head out to the dive sites twice daily, and no prior experience is needed—so there’s no excuse not to give scuba diving a try!

If scuba diving isn’t your thing, you can rent a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and paddle over to Monkey Beach on the west side of Phi Phi Don. The trip takes about 30 minutes.
Just a heads-up: the monkeys here are clever and can spot a bag of food or a bottle from a mile away — so watch out, or you might end up hungry and thirsty!
For a longer adventure, you can kayak further to Nui Bay and Hin Poo Bay on the opposite side of the bay. This journey usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour.

Where to Find Cheap Local Food?
For an authentic taste of local cuisine, head to the Thai Market, located near the main pier. Here, you’ll find a wide variety of options—from fresh seafood and fish to delicious mango sticky rice and all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Don’t miss trying some exotic fruits like mangosteen, longkong, or durian while you’re there!
People often ask me what I love most about the island, and honestly, it’s hard to give just one simple answer. I think what I truly cherish is the ever-changing spirit of our little village and everything that comes with it.
The stunning beaches, crystal-clear aquamarine waters, mysterious jungle trails, breathtaking sunsets, the chorus of noisy frogs, playful monkeys, locals strolling around in their pajamas… the peaceful mornings and the lively nights — all of that, and so much more.
